Work and Holiday visa update

As per the Media Release Published by The Hon Alex Hawke MP Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs on 31 March 2022, 

Summary of Changes in Work and Holiday Visa 

  • A 30 per cent cap increase to the number of places available to nationals from countries with which Australia has a capped Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa arrangement in 2022-23 only.

  • Commencing on 1 July 2022:
    • Brazil new arrangement with 500 places
    • Mongolia new arrangement with 100 places
    • Slovak Republic cap increase from 200 to 1000 places
    • Hungary and Austria cap increase from 200 to 500 places
    • Italy and Denmark age increased from 30 to 35 years.

New Work and Holiday Maker arrangement with Mongolia

Media Release Published on 31 March 2022!

As per the Media release published on 31 March 2022 by The Hon Alex Hawke MP Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs

A new Work and Holiday Maker (WHM) arrangement will allow up to 100 young Mongolians and 100 young Australians each year to enjoy a 12-month holiday in each other’s country, during which they may undertake short-term work and study.

Australia opens Work and Holiday program to Brazil

Commencing on 1 July 2022!

As per the Media release of The Hon Alex Hawke MP Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs

  • Young people from Brazil will be able to work, study and holiday in Australia under a new memorandum of understanding for a reciprocal Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa arrangement signed on 31 March 2022 

 

  • Commencing on 1 July 2022, the arrangement will allow up to 500 young Brazilians aged between 18 and 30 to stay in Australia each year, for a 12-month holiday during which they can undertake short-term work and study.
