NEW PROGRAMS AVAILABLE IN 2024 [Griffith University]

We’re pleased to introduce two exciting programs in 2024.

The Bachelor of Cyber Security addresses Australia’s surging demand for skilled professionals, imparting expertise in innovative solutions for businesses and government. The Master of Integrated Water Management, will be offered on-campus by the University’s International WaterCentre team, and covers a trans-disciplinary approach to cultivate leaders in the water sector, focusing on practical skills for sustainable solutions. Both programs are aligned with Griffith’s commitment to providing students with essential skills for success in rapidly evolving industries.

Bachelor of Cyber Security

Cyber security is one of the fastest-growing industries in Australia. Within this degree, students will gain highly sought-after skills to generate and implement innovative cyber security solutions for business, government and individuals. They will also develop the expertise to investigate and identify current and future cyber security threats, conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of networked devices and infrastructure, and generate and implement innovative cyber security solutions. Students will benefit from cutting-edge facilities-including the new Cyber Range to hone their security skills.

Study topics include Fundamentals of Cyber Security, Cyber Security Standards and Operations, Cyber Security Defence and Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Ethical Hacking, Cryptography, and Trustworthy AI.

This degree will also include core IT knowledge such as programming, networks and data management, and project management, and students can also choose from a range of elective courses. In the last year of studies, students will complete a practical project for industry or research placement providing first-hand experience of the knowledge, skills and attributes required to succeed in full-time employment.

Master of Integrated Water Management

Previously only available online, the Master of Integrated Water Management has created water leaders by drawing on international teaching and research from many fields to provide a trans-disciplinary, whole-of-water-cycle approach to water management. This program is now available on-campus, making it more accessible to students wishing to study in this area.

The program aims to build the capacity of future leaders in water management, with an emphasis on professionals working in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and development, urban water management, across water, land and people and in water finance for the achievement of sustainable development goals. The program equips students with practical tools and skills for developing and managing the adoption of innovative solutions to local, regional, national and international water management issues. Students will develop the strategic, managerial and technical skills they need to advance in the water sector.

This degree is managed and led by the University’s International WaterCentre (IWC). The IWC is a key capacity-building organisation in the global water sector and is dedicated to providing education and training to promote whole-of-water cycle approaches to integrated water management around the world.
