The New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship (subclass 461) visa

About this Visa

The New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship (subclass 461) visa

  • is a temporary visa and valid for 5 years;
  • permits unlimited travel to and from Australia;
  • does not require formal sponsorship or nomination; and
  • does not include any work or study restrictions but
  • may include either or both:
    • Condition 8303 states you must not become involved in activities disruptive to, or violence threatening harm to, the Australian community or a group within the Australian community.
    • Condition 8501 states you must maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance while you are in Australia.
If the relationship with your partner ends

You must report to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection if your circumstances change. This includes a new residential address, a new passport, or a pregnancy, birth, divorce, separation, marriage, de facto relationship or death in your family.

What are the application fees?

If you pay for your application by credit card, a surcharge will apply. The current surcharge rates are:

  • Visa and MasterCard* – 1.32%
  • Paypal – 1.00%

* The surcharge will also apply to Debit Visa cards and Debit MasterCards

Most people are struggling to stay in this country as visa terms because we are one of Austraila's foreigners. When you find an agency that helps you stay away from visa conditions while you study or work, a few of us have the experience that agency gives you wrong information or to be rude to you. Its not often these days that you immediately feel like the most important person in the store, but that is how I felt when I walked through the door of the AEV Centre in Southport. I was greeted with a friendly smile and ushered to comfortable seats where I waited briefly for my appointment.Paul Kwons Offices are clean and fresh and as I glanced at his Certificates of achievements on the wall, I started to relax realising I was in qualified hands.I have lived in Australia for many years but realised I would need guaranteed support in my ageing years. I had tried a couple of on-line Visa Application options but had always run into one snag or another, I was starting to loose my patience.A friend encouraged me to seek professional help and I am happy to say the AEV Centre in Southport satisfied all my requirements and also had a open appointment for me when I was free.During our first meeting Paul mapped out the application procedure and created profiles and payment methods, it was dark before I left his office that first meeting but his smile never faded. I saw Paul at least two more times to confirm details and drop off paperwork as he asked for it, often his confirmation E mails would arrive well into the evening and I appreciated his assistance greatly.At my last visit he pressed the enter button and submitted my completed application. "This could take a while", was his last comment.I am excited to share that after seven months the Ministry has granted my application and I am well on the way to gaining Australian Citizenship.Many thanks to the Paul Kwon and his lovely staff at the Southport AEV Centre.

Sarah helped me get one of my visas approved during one of the hardest times in my life when I thought that there's no way that I can get all the steps done in time. Sarah helped out with my partner visa magnificently! I visited 3 visa agents before we found Sarah and they all said I have to apply a student visa for at least a year before going for a partner visa because our relationship wasn’t long enough. When we were about to give up on a partner visa, two of my friends who also applied for a partner visa with Sarah recommended her. She told us that to be able to apply it and she helped out with every process in time before my current visa expired. Now I got a permanent visa.I couldn’t have got married to my partner and there wouldn’t have been my life in Australia if I didn't meet her.Highly recommend her! On 27th June 2023, with the help of Paul, I got the offer from Bond University, then with the help of Paul and Kate from AUSTRALIAN EDUCATION VISA CENTRE, I started to prepare my application documents for the Student 500 Visa. Most people are struggling to stay in this country as visa terms because we are one of Austraila's foreigners. When you find an agency that helps you stay away from visa conditions while you study or work, a few of us have the experience that agency gives you wrong information or to be rude to you. Also I was paying for them before and I was disappointed. However, when I talked to the AEV centre, I felt different from others. Now I am still satisfied with them for three years. Thank you AEV :)

Its not often these days that you immediately feel like the most important person in the store, but that is how I felt when I walked through the door of the AEV Centre in Southport. I was greeted with a friendly smile and ushered to comfortable seats where I waited briefly for my appointment.Paul Kwons Offices are clean and fresh and as I glanced at his Certificates of achievements on the wall, I started to relax realising I was in qualified hands.I have lived in Australia for many years but realised I would need guaranteed support in my ageing years. I had tried a couple of on-line Visa Application options but had always run into one snag or another, I was starting to loose my patience.A friend encouraged me to seek professional help and I am happy to say the AEV Centre in Southport satisfied all my requirements and also had a open appointment for me when I was free.During our first meeting Paul mapped out the application procedure and created profiles and payment methods, it was dark before I left his office that first meeting but his smile never faded. I saw Paul at least two more times to confirm details and drop off paperwork as he asked for it, often his confirmation E mails would arrive well into the evening and I appreciated his assistance greatly.At my last visit he pressed the enter button and submitted my completed application. "This could take a while", was his last comment.I am excited to share that after seven months the Ministry has granted my application and I am well on the way to gaining Australian Citizenship.Many thanks to the Paul Kwon and his lovely staff at the Southport AEV Centre.

My partner and I have just completed the first stage in obtaining permanent residence Subclass 820 Visa for her in Australia and with the expert advise and assistance from Paul and his team at the Australian Education & Visa Center it has been a reasonably easy and pleasing experience, to undertake this task without the assistance and expert advise from the Australian Education & Visa Center would have been a very difficult task and may have end with a disappointing result.If anyone is considering applying for permanent residence in Australia for yourself or your partner we strongly urge you to consider getting advise and assistance from the Australian Education & Visa Center and getting them to complete the application for you to ensure the best possible outcome.Regards Chris

Six years ago, Paul guided us through the process of applying for a 143 visa. At that time processing was only supposed to take 18 months. Sarah helped out with my partner visa magnificently! I visited 3 visa agents before we found Sarah and they all said I have to apply a student visa for at least a year before going for a partner visa because our relationship wasn’t long enough. When we were about to give up on a partner visa, two of my friends who also applied for a partner visa with Sarah recommended her. She told us that to be able to apply it and she helped out with every process in time before my current visa expired. Now I got a permanent visa.I couldn’t have got married to my partner and there wouldn’t have been my life in Australia if I didn't meet her.Highly recommend her! Just talk with her before you give up. It's really worth it.

On 27th June 2023, with the help of Paul, I got the offer from Bond University, then with the help of Paul and Kate from AUSTRALIAN EDUCATION VISA CENTRE, I started to prepare my application documents for the Student 500 Visa. On 20th July this month, Paul submitted my application to Australian Immigration. Just one week later, today 27th July, I received the notification that my visa application was successful.
